Meet Willy
Our founder and surfing expert, Willy Shim
Willy at the Lahaina paddle out, one year after the Maui fires
Willy Shim is a Hawaiian native, born and raised on these islands, he’s spent a lifetime riding Hawaii’s waves. His passion is using surfing as a vessel to share the rich tapestry of Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ‘mana.’ His dedication runs so deep, he’d give his very blood for this beloved land.
When the 2023 fires broke loose in Lahaina, Willy fled from his house. His home, business, and beloved community were all irrevocably damaged, but that didn’t stop him. Willy is continuing to teach Maui-style surfing and spreading the aloha spirit.
